Arts at Dartington:
is a charity working with artists, entrepreneurs and activists
across the globe to create jobs and better places to live, cultivate
sustainable food and farming methods, and enrich lives through
the arts. The Dartington estate hosts a stimulating programme
of education, performance, festivals and film.
fabric, Totnes - runs workshops several times a week in
sewing, knitting, crochet, lampshade making, patchwork and quilting,
dressmaking, pattern cutting, felting and more. Ideal for kids
(lots of handy cafes nearby for mum and dad to sample while kids
get busy with craft.)
at Dartington - a small group of shops/designers showcasing
a range of wonderful craft products, from glass and ceramics to
jewellery and woodwork. Cranks vegetarian café on site.
It is also the site of dynamic adventures for bookable outdoor
activities including kayaking and canoeing.
Craftsmen - the Devon Guild of Craftsmen in Bovey Tracey is
the largest contemporary crafts centre in South West England,
with the Jubilee Gallery and the extended Craft Shop selling a
range of products by 250 south-west craftspeople. Also on site
is The Terrace café serving an excellent range of freshly
cooked meals (there is also a children's menu and play area).
